Description +

Key batteries and buttons are replacement parts for remote car key fobs — CR2032, CR2025, CR2016, CR1616, CR2450, and CR2430 lithium coin cells, plus Panasonic VL2020 and VL2330 rechargeable cells, and solder-on tactile switch buttons for keys where a button no longer registers a press. Swap a dead battery in minutes at home, or replace a failed switch button to restore the press that operates lock, unlock, or boot. Match the battery type or switch button to your key and restore full remote function — no new key, no programming.

Frequently Asked Questions +

How long does a car key fob battery last?

Typically 2 to 4 years under normal use — battery life shortens if the fob is regularly left within range of the car, as the key continuously exchanges signals with the vehicle and drains faster. Replacing proactively every 1 to 2 years avoids surprise failures.

Can I use a CR2025 instead of a CR2032, or the other way around?

Both are 3-volt lithium cells with the same 20mm diameter, so a CR2025 physically fits a CR2032 slot — but the CR2025 is thinner with lower capacity, so it lasts less time and may sit loose. Use the exact type your fob was designed for whenever possible.

What is a key button and when do I need one?

A key button is the small electrical tactile switch soldered onto the circuit board inside the fob — it registers the press when you push lock, unlock, or boot. It is not the rubber or plastic cap on the outside. You replace it when a button stops responding or only works when pressed hard.
