PET 9H is a thin, flexible polyester (polyethylene terephthalate) film finished with a scratch-resistant hard coating rated 9H on the pencil hardness scale — the same surface hardness rating as tempered glass. The result is an optically clear protector that resists everyday scratches but cannot crack or shatter like glass.
Is PET 9H better than tempered glass for a motorcycle display?
For motorcycle instrument clusters, yes. PET 9H offers the same 9H surface hardness rating as tempered glass, but its flexible base cannot crack, chip or shatter from vibration or impact, and it adheres evenly to flat and slightly curved dashboard displays without edge lifting.
