Eurolocks Keys by Code

Frequently Asked Questions +

What code series does Eurolocks use and which category does each cover?

Eurolocks uses four distinct code systems. E-series (E1–E200) covers roof rack, bike rack, and ski rack lock cylinders. EL-series (EL1–EL500, EL9001–EL9500) and 9001–9500 and G1001–G3000 cover filing cabinets, pedestals, lockers, and mailbox systems. The 43000–52000 numeric range covers caravan locker and compartment cylinders shared with Mont Blanc, Elite, and Fort. The series prefix on the lock face identifies the correct category before ordering.

Where is the Eurolocks code located on different applications?

On roof rack and bike rack systems the E-series code is stamped on the lock barrel face — visible when the mounting point or carrier arm is accessed. On caravan locker systems the numeric code appears on the barrel face when the compartment is open. On office furniture and filing cabinet systems the code is stamped on the lock face or original key shaft — visible on the barrel face when the drawer is open. All codes are on the lock face or original key — never on the product housing.

Are Eurolocks keys from different series interchangeable?

No. Each Eurolocks series uses a different blade profile and blank. An E-series key will not operate an EL-series cylinder, and a 9001–9500 furniture key will not operate a 43000–52000 caravan locker cylinder. The series prefix — E, EL, G, or numeric range — identifies the blank and blade profile. Ordering from the wrong series produces a key that will not fit regardless of the code number entered.

Which rack and carrier brands are compatible with Eurolocks E-series cylinders?

Eurolocks E-series (E1–E200) cylinders are fitted across Thule-compatible roof rack mounting points, Atera bike carriers, Car-Go roof racks, Chrysler, Jeep, and Mopar factory-fitted roof rack lock points. The same E-series blank covers all of these systems — the code on the lock face is the only variable. Brand alone is not sufficient to confirm the correct series — always verify the E-prefix on the lock face before ordering.

My Eurolocks code starts with EL — is it the same as the E-series rack key?

No. EL-prefix codes (EL1–EL500, EL9001–EL9500) are a different Eurolocks series used on filing cabinets, post boxes, and office furniture cylinders. The EL-series uses a different blank and blade profile from the E-series rack keys. An E-series key ordered for an EL-prefix code — or vice versa — will not fit. The prefix letter is the critical identifier. If unsure, send a photo of your lock face to mr-key.com before ordering.
